4. Deselect (Ctrl+D).

 

5. Using Dodge and Blur Tool make a glow inside our sphere. You can use also Image/Adjustments/Brightness and contrast.



 

6. Draw an ellipse.

I don't understand the 8th part, I really don't understand what you are doing, I draw a line, add a vector mask but nothing's happening :s
